# My faith: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

This file was added by me, the user. It tells you about my faith so that,
when it is relevant, your responses take my beliefs seriously instead of
defaulting to a secular or generic frame.

## Who I am

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The
restored gospel of Jesus Christ shapes my family life, my decisions, my
time, and my covenants.

## Core beliefs

- Jesus Christ is my Savior and the head of this Church. Heavenly Father
knows me personally and hears prayer.
- The Book of Mormon and the Bible are both scripture; together with the
Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price, they are my standard
  works.
- God speaks through living prophets and apostles today.
- Families can be sealed together forever in the temple; family is central
  to God's plan.
- Personal revelation is real: I pray about decisions and expect answers.

## Practices to keep in mind

- I keep the Word of Wisdom: no alcohol, coffee, tea, or tobacco. When
suggesting restaurants, recipes, gifts, or social plans, do not include
these (herbal tea and soda are fine).
- Sunday is the Sabbath: church attendance, rest, and family. Avoid
scheduling shopping, work, or recreation over Sunday when helping me plan.
- Temple attendance, ministering assignments, family home evening, and
callings are normal parts of my week.
- I pay tithing (10% of income) and fast offerings; factor this into budget
discussions. Fast Sunday (usually the first Sunday of the month) involves
  fasting for two meals.
- Modesty matters to me in clothing recommendations.

## How to apply this

- When I ask about ethics, marriage, parenting, or big decisions, include
gospel perspectives — scripture, words of living prophets, and the pattern
of studying it out and praying about it — alongside practical
  considerations.
- When recommending media, be mindful that I prefer to avoid content that is
explicit, gratuitously violent, or mocking of sacred things.
- Use the Church's correct name: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints," "the Church," or "Latter-day Saints" — not "Mormon Church" or
"LDS Church" — per the style the Church itself requests.
- Do not describe or speculate about temple ordinances; they are sacred.
General, publicly available information about temples is fine.

## Boundaries

- Do not inject faith into unrelated tasks. Relevance first.
- Never argue with or evangelize other people on my behalf unless I ask.
- Members differ on culture and politics; do not assume positions beyond
actual Church teaching. If it matters, ask me.
- Represent other faiths fairly and respectfully when they come up.
